About Me

Who am I?

Hi there, my name is Adam (Ad for short) and I extend a warm welcome to you.

I’m a self-taught jeweller who prides himself on creating unique and bespoke fine jewellery using both traditional and modern techniques.

In a nutshell, I served in the RAF as an Aircraft Engineer for 10 years where I travelled the world.

After my military career I moved into offshore oil and Gas and since 2017 I’m now an Ultrasound Field Engineer in the Medical Industry.

Why did I become a jeweller?

It all began with an idea I had during a work summer party.

My wife and I both have custom made wedding rings created by a long established local jeweller and for some reason I thought Why don’t I make her an anniversary gift myself.

That was the seed that grew and led to me building a Kiln as I couldn’t afford one, along with a vacuum chamber I cobbled together from an old fridge compressor. All proper back yard engineering stuff but it got the job done.

Sadly, I missed the anniversary deadline so my wife gracefully accepted the gift for Christmas instead and the rest is history.

I taught myself each stage of lost wax casting and spent the many hours I drive on the road in my day job listening to YouTube tutorials rather than labouring through the same old  songs on repeat.

So, here I am putting my new found knowledge to good use and who knows where it might lead.

what about the day job?

I really enjoy my day job and you may notice that my logo is made up of a Medical Cross, Propeller and diamonds to represent my career path to date.

I believe that we are all products of our own unique experiences and should remember where we’ve come from and what we’ve done because that is how we learn and grow.

What inspires me?

My inspiration can come from anywhere but when I focus on an idea, I’m like a dog with a bone and just can’t let go until it’s realised.

what is jewellery to me?

For me, jewellery is a fun and exciting form of story telling. A statement to the world about who you are, what you stand for and a way to express what matters to you. Something you can be proud to wear and excited to talk about should the opportunity arise.

It’s also amazing to think that a piece of jewellery I’ve created could outlast myself and carry on through to future generations. I mean.. what a privilege
